
Waffled French Onion Grilled Cheese

What you need

tbsp parmesan cheese

slice cheddar cheese

bunch baby spinach leaves

oz butter

cup caramelized onion
slice brioche loaf
Instructions
1: Preheat a waffle maker to medium. 2: Add ⅓ Parmesan cheese to the top of one slice of bread. Add the baby spinach on top, then the cheddar, then the caramelized onions, fresh thyme, and ⅓ more of the Parmesan cheese. 3: Smear some butter on the top of the second slice of bread. Place the slice on top of the sandwich stack, butter side up, then top the butter with the remaining Parmesan cheese. 4: Add some butter to the bottom of the waffle maker, then add the sandwich. Close the waffle maker and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted. 5: For roasted caramelized onions (optional): Preheat the oven to 425°F. 6: Add the onions to a large casserole dish. Add the salt, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and water. Toss to combine. 7: Cover the casserole dish, then place it in the oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, begin to toss every 15 minutes for the next 30 minutes. 8: After 1 hour, remove the cover and toss, then roast for another 30-45 minutes, tossing every 10 minutes until they are golden in color.View original recipe
